What To Look For When Searching For A New Law Office

pacific-business-centre-directory-signs

Searching for a location for your law office can be a very complicated task.  In addition to the many factors like price and square footage, there are also some SEO considerations to think about.

First we are going to talk about Virtual Offices.  Stay away from virtual offices at all costs.  These are not usable office spaces.  Yes you might be able to get a listing created, yes there might be competitors doing the same thing, but eventually those listings will come down.

When looking in certain parts of the city, keep in mind that proximity to the searcher is a major thing google looks at when displaying search results.  An office space in an industrial area or office park may be a more convenient location, but not ideal for getting leads from population centers.

Another concern when looking at a new office space is “filtering”.  When there are multiple of the same category of business in the same building,  Google will usually apply a filter and only display 1 from each building in order to provide more diversity in the search results.  So although that cheap office space with 50 other attorneys at it, is priced right, it may not be best for your SEO strategy.

The most ideal location for your law office would be

  • Close to the center of the city you are trying to rank for
  • Not have any other attorneys in the building(definitely no attorneys doing the same AOP)
  • Close to major population centers
